Lodge Christmas in July Program Helps Homeless Families

At our annual Christmas in July dinner, our members were asked to bring a gift card to be hung our Gift Giving Tree. Our dedicated membership gifted over 100 cards worth over $ 1200.00. We presented the cards to the Homeless Children’s Foundation Of Indian River County. The local ELKS Club has been a supporter of the Homeless Children's Foundation since it's origination in 2015. Each summer, they sponsor dozens of kids to attend the statewide ELKS away camp in Umatilla, Florida. This summer, the ELKS added a "Christmas in July" tree in their Clubhouse which allowed their members to purchase and hang gift cards on the tree. The ELKS members were incredibly generous and raised over $1,200 in gift cards. These cards are mostly for the purpose of grocery items, gas, and quick food and the Homeless Children's Foundation will give them out to homeless families in need. Thank you, ELKS!
