UPDATE to the ELKS CANCER BENEFIT for Joyce Hillegass with KARAOKE held
Saturday OCTOBER 29th, 2022

Information provided by PER James Fulks

On Saturday evening 29 October 2022, the Dunkirk Elks Lodge held, what was advertised as a cancer benefit.
While the event was, indeed, a cancer benefit, in reality it was a love offering and "surprise" for our very own Joyce Hillegass.
Joyce has had a very real and very recent struggle with her own health, and the event held last night was a celebration of her, finally completing her final round of chemotherapy.
A soup cook off was held and Jimmy and Joyce Hillegass 's Seafood Bisque was BY FAR the most popular soup by vote of those who participated in the taste test.
A close race for second place, resulted in a win by the nose at the wire for Lila Williams's New England Potato and Oyster Clam Chowder.
Third place was Cheese Tortellini Soup.
Fourth place was Broccoli and Cheese Potato soup.
And Fifth place was Chili.
Truthfully, all of the soups were excellent.
The 50/50 drawing was won by PER James Fulks and the entirety of his win was donated back to the benefit for Joyce
A very special thank you to Rick and Patty Newsome for putting together gift baskets to be raffled off.
Thank you to Pam Brown for a beautiful gift basket for Joyce, and thank you to all who put items in it.
Thank you to PERS Joe Sommers and James Fulks for generously providing the entertainment for the event by hiring Steve Norman Karaoke and DJ Service.
Thank you to all who participated in this wonderful evening for Joyce.
