THINKING ABOUT JOINING?

To be eligible for membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, you must be:

a citizen of the United States

        over the age of 21

        one who believes in God.

You must be sponsored by a member of the Elks Lodge and reside in the jurisdiction of the Lodge you wish to join. This person will be your 'proposer'. You also need two other Elks who will be your co-sponsors. The Elk who proposes you for membership will obtain a membership application and help you fill it out.  You can send us a Member Inquiry through Grand Lodge at http://www.elks.org/who/join.cfm

After your proposer fills in his/her required portion, you will be given the application for membership. Fill it in, following the instructions and answering all questions. Return the completed application to your proposer or the Lodge Secretary with the prescribed fees.

Your Application will be read at the next regular meeting and then forwarded to the Investigating Committee.  .

The Committee will report to the Lodge at the next regular meeting concerning your membership upon which you will be voted upon by those present.

When the vote is concluded, you will be notified and asked to present yourself for indoctrination (6:00) and then initiation (7:00). During indoctrination, you will learn more about the Order, programs and charities.

After initiation as an Elk, you can be part in all the meetings and social functions of the Lodge.

If for any reason your application is rejected, you cannot make application for membership for six months from date of rejection. If you have any questions please contact us via the Webmaster's email.
