Veteran's Memorial Monument

The local American Legion Post 664 and Elk's Lodge 2626 formed the Veteran's Memorial Committee to raise funds through direct contribution. These funds were used to purchase three polished granite monuments to honor the service men and women from Plumas County killed in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

We are pleased to announce that we were able to fund the Veteran's Plaza through direct contributions, and from sales of Commemorative Bricks. The bricks are red in color, and measure 4"x8". Dedication of the Veteran's Plaza took place on Memorial Day 2008. The bricks have been placed at the Veteran's Plaza as part of the walkway in front of the three Veteran's Monuments. The Monuments have a permanent home at the new Truman Collins Multi-purpose Complex located at Willow Street and Meadow Brook Road, Chester, Ca.

If you have the opportunity, please visit the Memorial. If you wish to purchase a brick and have it added to the memorial, please contact the Lodge.
