A Band of Brothers Dedicated to the Community and our Nation. We are the BENEVOLENT AND PROTECTIVE ORDER OF ELKS(B.P.O. ELKS) with over 2000 Lodges throughout the United States. We also have State Associations and on the National level, our Grand Lodge. There are a variety of philanthropic programs at each of these levels. At our Lancaster Lodge, programs for youth include: Local Scholarships, the Junior Youth Olympics, Hoop Shoot, Soccor Shoot, Halloween and Christmas parties and our sponsorship of Girl Scout Troop #116. We have community Service Programs, in appreciation and recognition of our local Law Enforcement, and our Fire Fighters honoring them at a dinner and presentation of awards for exemplary service to our community. Our Emergency Services Personnel, EMS, Law and Firemen, are given an annual Pancake Breakfast put on by our Lodge Volunteers. We are proud of the fact that each year, we have a Food and Clothing Drive that nets 2, to 4 P/U Truckloads, that is donated to St. Vincent De Paul at both Thanksgiving and Christmas. We also sponsor fund raisers for the "Elk's National Foundation (ENF) and the California-Hawaii Elk's Major Project Inc (CHEMPI). The CHEMPI Major Project is for Children who are born with such debilitating diseases as Spina Bifida and Muscular Dystrophy. We also do pre-school vision screenings and hearing tests. We raise almost 3 Million Dollars annually for this program. At the National level, "ENF" is our Organization that sponsors a multitude of programs that include a variety of scholarship programs (the Elk's are Second to the U.S. Government in scholarships). There are also Drug Awareness Programs, the National Hoop Shoot Program which has over 3 Million Youth participating annually. The Soccor Shoot (A newer program not yet as big as the Hoop Shoot.
