Kansas Elks Association
The theme for this year is “T Up 4 Elks”. Our work in the Elks is a lot like the game of golf. You can have a good round of golf going when a bad shot comes along. You can overcome it or you can give up. So it is in Elkdom, when we ask people to become members or ask members to help, we can either give up if they say no or brush up on our technique and give it another shot. But on the other hand, when you have a good round of golf, do you toot your horn? Do the same with your work in the Elks. When you have done something good for the Elks, toot your horn and let the community in on the secret. We as Elks do so much that goes unrecognized with our youth, our Veterans who gave so much and our State Major Project KETCH. We have the Sunflower and the Kansas Elks Association web page, but only Elk members look at it. We need to get our accomplishments in local news media and any other means to get our work out. Oh, by the way, do not forget the “Red Solo Cup” and fill it up many times with good Elk deeds and let’s have a party next May. Then we can toot our horns together.
