Carson City Elks 2177 holds their annual major project fundraiser
On March 19, the Carson City Elks held their annual dinner event to raise funds for Nevada State Elks New Major Project.
Sabina Bye was the event chairperson and did an exceptional job in coordinating this annual fundraiser. What was once known as Project Safe Haven, our Board of Directors felt our program needed ‘revamping’ and expanded, in order to meet the current needs of each community within this state.
Blue pigs are given to every new Elk member in Nevada and they are encouraged to donate generously. Additional blue pigs were put on every table at this event and members “tipped the pig.”
The Carson City Elks event, which is one of many events held throughout the state by all local Elk lodges, raised $1,334 in tips for the St. Jude Ranch for Children.
All proceeds go to helping abused and neglected children in recovering from their trauma and to help transform them and their families lives by empowering them to create new choices to help build a better future.
This helps break the cycle of abuse and neglect by mending their spirits and giving them new hope in a caring community. Anyone interested in finding out more about this worthwhile endeavor go to: http://nsea-elks.org/SMP.html
