Monterey Elks Honor Public Servants
More than 170 public servants from California’s Central Coast were honored during a roast beef dinner June 1 at the first annual Public Safety Appreciation Night at the Monterey Elks Lodge #1285. Medals were awarded to police and fire personnel and the new officers and directors of the Monterey County Peace Officers Assn. were installed.
Ticket drawings during the evening benefited the CHEA Elks’ major project and Rancho Cielo, which takes children away from gang life and points them to the possibility of another life.
