Stillwater Elks Lodge 179 Gives Back To The Community

The work of Stillwater Elks is to improve the communities we support while enjoying each others company and having fun as well. The following is just a sample of the way Stillwater Elks gives back to the community: • We gave SIX scholarships to college bound High School seniors two of whom went on to our statel level • We support two local scout troops and one Adventure Crew • We financially support sports teams in area schools and rec departments • We ran a Hoop Shoot and a Soccer Shoot for local kids • Christmas caroling several local nursing homes and sponsored a childrens Christmas party with Santa • 41 Christmas Trees were donated to local families in need • We donated to the St. Croix Valley food shelf • Donations to numerous local organizations including Young Life, Community Thread, St. Croix Alano Society, Summer Tuesdays, Lakeview Foundation, Minnesota Big Dad’s Stillwater branch • The Washington County Historical Society and Washington County 4H • We funded a local Eagle Scout candidates’ community service project – building a handicap access • Veterans – we donated personal items they can use and have them to the lodge for a dinner in their honor • Parking fees for residents of senior housing downtown Stillwater • Special Olympics, The American Cancer Society, a Bowling league for developmentally disabled adults in Stillwater, • The Elks State project – the youth camp – we sponsored a dozen kids for a week If you would like to help your community and have some fun, consider becoming an Elk.
