Lodge #2581 Guest Book

Scott Hubbert (ex-elk-member@chelprs.biz)

It looks like they FINALLY put some windows in the lounge as I suggested several years ago so it wouldn't look like your drinking in a cave. Congrats to common sense.

It looks like it took my last post to get the lodge Bulletin Editor to do his job and update the Official Lodge Bulletin, including the officers list. (It’s about time).

It looks like this ER doesn’t care about his members or keep them informed. There hasn’t been an update on the Official Lodge Bulletin website sense May. What’s up with that? Or could it be that this lodge is loosing too many members to go to ALL THAT TROUBLE? Could this be the reason that this lodge is loosing members? A vicious cycle indeed.

I noticed that this new ER has made a comment about me. He states that I’m a disgruntled ex-member. Duh! If I weren’t disgruntled I, I wouldn’t be making these comments. What he doesn’t address is the issues like why I was illegally force to leave the restaurant during Sunday Breakfast or apologize for it. He doesn’t address the other large donations that were kept silence to the members and placed in the Building Fund instead of CDs. ER, tell the truth. P.S. How’s your membership doing? Don’t blame that on me, because I don’t have that kind of pull. P.S.S. There is also another Computer Consultant in the Ocean Shores and I recommend you use him instead.

WOW! It looks like the Bulletin Editor finally updated the Website Calendar. Looking at all the Bullions he has edited to date, it sure looks like he doesn't take pride in his work. P.S. It looks like no action is being taken by Valdez and Sage (A Professional Service Corporation, Attorneys at Law) representing this lodge. I guess they couldn’t find anything false about my postings.

It has been over 3 month and I haven't heard a word form Valdez and Sage (A Professional Service Corporation, Attorneys at Law). I've written them via e-mail and certified letter, but to know avail. Is it because this was a ruse to silence me with an empty threat?

P.S. How about asking what the Trustees and the ER of 2007-2008 and 2008-2009, did with the large donations this lodge received from a few donors. I see that the New ER (ex-treasurer at that time) is trying to deflect the question of what happened to "a" large donation to the Elks. He said that it went to a CD at the Anchor Bank, but he knows better, it went into the building fund and we were all told to keep it quiet and not let the rest of the Majority Members know about it (which is why I complained). And Ron, wasn't it you (along with me and my signature) that allowed $2000.00 to be transferred from this fund to the general fund to pay lodge bills? I got hammered for it my Carl (Trustees Chairman). What part of this did I get wrong? When did you put this money into CD's and not inform the Secretary of this transaction?

If you disagree with anything I've posted on this site, how about letting me know by going to: http://chelpers.biz/Patriot/, or here at this guestbook site, instead of just deleting my comments. Are you that afraid of the truth?

It's about time you updated the Officers List. I see the (recycled officer's seats) PERs and many spouses are getting involved. Is this due to the lack of interest in B.P.O.E. 2581?

Congratulations to Ron DeVore as the new ER and Todd Rutschow as the Esquire. I believe Ron is a fine man and dedicated to any job he takes. I believe Todd is the best man to be the Esquire because he knows more about the Elks than All of the members of this lodge Combined.

An attempt by Valdez and Sage (A Professional Service Corporation, Attorneys at Law) to silence me on behalf of BPOE #2581 from posting any comments on this guestbook and accuse me of malicious behavior has only made me more resolved. To see this letter from the attorneys, just log on to chelpers.biz and click on “Take a look”. You’ll see what I mean.

Scott Hubbert (ex-elk-member@chelprs.biz)

In March of 2009, I requested and received an "Absolute Dimit" from the Elks Lodge. I requested the "Absolute Dimit" in order to remove myself from its roles to prevent Elks Lodge 2581 from paying the "Grand Lodge" and "WSEA" membership dues in my name. This would have allowed me a possible come back in 2010. My other option was to just quit and be dropped from the roles for non-payment and thus cause Elks Lodge 2581 to maintain me on the role for a year and thus pay the Grand Lodge and WSEA fees. On June 28th 2009 I sought to have breakfast during there "open to the public" Breakfast. I ordered my breakfast and coffee. After receiving my coffee and after Hal Gunn talked to Betty (Elks Secretary and Cook). Betty came out of the kitchen and asked me to leave because I wasn't a member (Just a day after she had asked me to come back to the lodge). I was told that if I hadn't requested the "Absolute Dimit" then it would be alright. She had also asked me (the previous day) to re-join so I could be allowed to work on there computers. I have declined the request to rejoin, but offered to help with any computer problems they might have had (until today (6/28/09)). Now I will NEVER help the Elks Lodge. This was very humiliating, as there were numerous guests having breakfast. She could have waited till I ate and then took me aside and told me her problem. She was later informed by a PER that contacted the Grand Lodge about this that she was WRONG (as I tried to explain to her how WRONG she was). For this reason, I have decided (with regret), not to except any computer jobs with any Elk member of B.P.O.E. 2581. There are other computer consultants in Ocean Shores, Hoquiam, and Aberdeen and would request you go to them. For those whom have used me in the past, I apologize. Good luck to all and "Thank You" for your past patronage. I believe the Elk's membership has dropped and is continuing to drop, going below 400 (the last time I checked). This is not enough to sustain the lodge for any long period of time. Only about 30 to 60 members are benefiting from the other members who just dutifully pay their annual fees. If you are not actively involved in B.P.O.E. 2581, please consider dropping from the roles and use your money for, what I believe to be, BETTER Charity Organizations. You can still donate to the Elks by going to the elks.org website and donate without having to join this local lodge.
