“We had nine schools participate and a total of 520 local contest participants”, says Lodge Hoop Shoot Director, Bill Brown.

Of those participants, 27 won their school’s contest and competed in the Lodge Hoop Shoot, held on October 13 at the Paris Gibson Education Center in Great Falls, Mont.

Spaghetti and Basketballs

Youth in Nevada City, Calif., competed in their local Hoop Shoot on October 27 at the Nevada Union High School in Grass Valley, Calif. Contestants, sponsored by Nevada City, Calif., Lodge No. 518, each received medals and t-shirts for their participation. Winners will also attend a Spaghetti Dinner at the Lodge.

Eight-year-old Zachary Grande competed for the first time this year.

“The Hoop Shoot was fun and I took third place,” says Zachary. “I hung my medal in my room and next year, I want to win!”
