A New Starting Line Up

After 11 years of service as Elks Hoop Shoot Regional Director for Southwest Region 11, Jud Good has stepped down from the line. We are grateful for his many years of dedication to the program.

“My wife Deb and I are so proud to have been a part of this event over the past 11 years,” says Good. “The relationships that were developed because of this program will be cherished forever.”

Join the Elks National Foundation in thanking the Goods for their commitment to ensuring the Hoop Shoot’s ongoing success.

When one team member steps down, another has the opportunity to shine on the court. Starting with the 2014-15 Hoop Shoot season, Russell Scott of Dallas, Texas, Lodge No. 71, joins the Southwest Region’s starting line up as Regional Director. Scott, a Texas State Hoop Shoot Director for ten years, and Good are looking forward to how Team Southwest will continue to grow with Scott at the helm.

“The Hoop Shoot allows any kid to excel without having to be a superstar athlete,” says Scott on why he’s passionate about the program. “Win or lose, they learn something about themselves at each level of competition.”

Scott will begin his journey as Hoop Shoot Regional Director during the 2014 Elks National Convention in New Orleans. Join the ENF in welcoming Scott as one of the key players in the Elks Hoop Shoot.

Through the Elks National Hoop Shoot Free Throw Program, the Elks National Foundation offers youth the opportunity to engage in healthy competition, connect with their families and community, and succeed both on and off the court. In 2014-15, the ENF allocated $825,160 to fund this program. For more information on the Hoop Shoot, visit www.elks.org/hoopshoot.
