The Kansas Elks Training Center for the Handicapped, Inc. (KETCH) was established over 30 years ago to help people with disabilities obtain and maintain jobs. The mission of KETCH is "to provide leadership to Kansans through services that empower individuals to achieve self-fulfillment at work, at home, and in the community."
KETCH primarily serves individuals with severe disabilities and includes services such as day habilitation and vocational training, employment, and residential services. While KETCH's job placement program is statewide, the Wichita facility houses training areas for sub-contracting electronics, assembly and packaging, and the production of air filters and notebook binders. KETCH also provides employment and housing programs for senior citizens with or without disabilities.
Last year, KETCH found jobs for 889 people with disabilities who together earned more than $9 million and paid more than $1.5 million in taxes. KETCH believes that when people become contributing, tax-paying members of society, we all benefit.
