Who is Eligible?

The principles of brotherhood and compassion are greatly valued by the Elks. When many Elks were called to serve in World War II, the Elks National Foundation responded by establishing the Emergency Educational Grant program, to provide educational assistance to children of Elks who were lost or incapacitated while serving during the war. The program later expanded to include all children of deceased or disabled Elks, who were being denied the privileges of higher education by reason of the financial condition of the family.

For 2004-05, the Elks National Foundation has reserved $350,000 for the Emergency Educational grant program. To be eligible for assistance, the student must be and undergraduate, unmarried and under the age of 23. Grants are for one year and are renewable up to three times. Grant amounts can range up to $4,000. For more information, or an application, contact the ENF scholarship department at scholarship@elks.org or 773/755-4732.
